2020 Summer Activities & Hobbies Camps!

COOKING CAMP

Dates:
– Session 1: Dessert Camp –  June 15-18 — Register by June 5th
– Session 2: S.T.E.M.          –  July 20-23 — Register by July 10th

Ages: 10-15
Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Dessert: Come and make sweet treats with this dessert-themed cooking camp! Every day we will explore a different delight so bring your sweet tooth and be ready to dig in!

S.T.E.M. Cooking:  Come use your science & math skills in the kitchen!  This camp will be “exploding” with lots of fun and excitement!  From slime to chemical reactions, come experiment with food!

(All camps must have a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 25) 

 

ART CAMP

Dates:
– Session 1: June 22-25
– Session 2: July 20-23
– Session 3: Aug. 3-6

Ages: 5-9 years old
Time: Monday-Wednesday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Thursday 9:00 am-3:00pm

Description: In this camp we will focus on reading as well as art.  We will start each day with a book and all of the art projects will go along with that book.  We will do a variety of 2D and 3D art including: clay, paper mâché, wire sculpture, weaving, folded paper and painting. The registration fee includes a t-shirt, snacks and lunch on Thursday.

Must have at least 10 signed up with a maximum of 20.

BRIGHT BRAINS, LLC CAMP

Morning Camp: Challenge Accepted!
This action-packed session is geared towards team-oriented challenges that promote cooperation, communication & group problem-solving–all while having tons of fun!  Test your STEAM abililities & stretch your brain to new heights as you design, build, & create in an atmosphere that is challenging, supportive & fun.  Showcase your skills to produce the best Cobra Weave possible!  Are you ready to accept the challenge?

Afternoon Camp: Brain Boosters, Breakouts, and a Big Escape, Oh My!                                                                                                    Come challenge your brain this summer as you delve into Brain Boosters, Breakouts, and a Big Escape!  Interact with a variety of puzzles, problems, and pursuits to perfect your logical thinking strategies and skills!  Investigate your favorite puzzle and become an expert.  Engage om critical thinking as you “breakout” of the ordinary by solving puzzles to open a locked box in a Breakout EDU game.  Finally, put all your skills to the ultimate test as you attempt to break out of an authentic Escape Room.  Will you succeed or be stumped?

Session 2 Description:

Morning Camp: Bibliomania: Reading and Projects Galore!   Join us for a week of interesting, integrated learning activities as we explore a variety of topics through reading!  This camp is designed to develop excitement about reading as campers engage with texts & create captivating projects.   No matter what type of reader you are, come indulge yourself in different genres through  crafts, writing, games, and more.

Are you interested in turning your ideas into movies?  Or how about creating Memes & GIFs to make others laugh?  Then Cinema Summer is the camp for you!  Try your hand at using Stop Motion on Google Slides to watch your ideas come to life & find out how Memes & GIFs  are created & learn to make your own.  Explore all of the steps that Hollywood producers go through from “Action” to “That’s a wrap!”  This week’s focus is on creativity, cooperation, & fun while exploring animation & special effects in a variety of ways.

Try your hand at creating a digital Breakout to see if you can stump your friends.  Finally, put all your skills to the ultimate test as you attempt to break out of an authentic Escape Room!

JUNIOR BASKETBALL CAMP

Description: Junior Basketball camp will teach basketball fundamentals of dribbling, passing, & shooting.  Campers will play modified games & learn the basics of team play.  We will use smaller basketballs & lower goals.  In order for this camp to make, there must be at least 10 particpants registered, with a maximum of 30.

CHEER CAMP

Grades: Rising 1st – 5th grade

Description: This camp is designed to teach cheer techniques & skills to young individuals in the areas of cheer, & some tumbling. This is a basic cheer camp for beginners. Teamwork, team-building, strength & endurance skills will be taught for the development of each participant.

Participants need to bring a bag lunch & drink each day.  Participants must wear comfortable non-restrictive clothing and tennis shoes. NO sandals or flip-flops are allowed.  In order for this camp to make, there must be at least 10 participants registered, with a maximum of 20.

 

VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Description: Campers will learn the basic skills and fundamentals of volleyball; including serving, passing, setting, hitting and more. Must have a minimum of 10 campers and a maximum of 20.

TRACK & FIELD CAMP

Ages: 7-13 year olds

Description: This camp is an intro to track and field events. During camp participants will try their hand at different event areas: Shot Put & Discus Throw, Long, Broad, and High jumps, Sprints, and introduction to Hurdles, and relays.
